Learning another language used to be a discouraging task. Not anymore; Learning GermanLanguage can direct you to the program that is right for you, whether you want to learn the language for business or pleasure. With today’s audio, video and online instructions it has become easier than ever. These teaching tools have taken the hard work out of mastering a new language.

Maybe you decided to go to Germany this coming summer. Which part of the country do you want to see? Maybe it is Bavaria this time, which is one of the oldest states in Europe. It dates back to the 6th century AD. From the middle Ages to the beginning of the 19th century, Bavaria was a powerful Dukedom and it became a Free State in 1918.

With its unique diversity, its scenic beauty and unspoiled nature, its romantic castles and medieval towns, Bavaria has no equal. It is one of the prime holiday destinations in Germany, not matter at what time of the year you come to visit.

Munich, the state capital is one of the most prosperous cities in Germany.

It welcomes thousands of people each October, for its annual Oktoberfest. It began originally at the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig in 1810. The celebration lasted for five days. Today, the festival goes on for 16 days. The city welcomes hundreds of thousands, all ready to hit the beer halls. It is a lively and unforgettable festival.

Neuschanstein Castle is something you definitely don’t want to miss. It is Germany’s most famous castle and the model was used by Walt Disney for his Sleeping Beauty Castle. It took hundreds of craftsmen and over 20 years to complete. Ludwig II, the builder of the castle, was known as the Swan King (Schwan in German), hence its name.

He was also known as Mad Ludwig, justified or not, and was only 41 years old when he died, but his legend lives on in this wonderful castle.

The Romantic Road is a 350 km stunning journey from the River Main to the Alps. It was originally a trade route during the middle ages. Today it offers the traveler one of the most beautiful combinations of scenery, cuisine and ambience that Germany has to offer. Visit the stunning Würzburg Residence Palace, Rothenburg-ob-der Tauber, one of Germany’s remaining medieval cities, remains of the Roman presence in Augburg, and, of course, King Ludwig II’s unforgettable dream castle. All along the Romantic Road you will encounter historic festivals.

The Bavarian Forest (Bayerischer Wald), in the south-eastern corner of the state, is one of central Europe’s largest continuous woodland areas. A major part of the forest was declared a National Park in 1970. You will love the rolling hills and tree covered mountains. The two hundred kilometer bicycle routes and the one hundred kilometer cross-country ski route, give the visitors the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful area in both summer and winter.

Whatever course you choose, you will be happy to have some understanding of the German language. Even though most young people in Germany speak English; the older generations do not. It’s easy to miss important information when we depend on translations.

So, go ahead choose the course that suits your need, with the help of Learning German Language,

Restaurant Empire II – Quick Review and Gameplay Tips

The much awaited virtual culinary sensation is back folks, now with an added tinge of flavour. Pardon the pun, but the sequel to the first Restaurant Empire really does come with plenty of fresh changes to gratify players’ insatiable craving for more cuisine rush. To those who have yet to indulge themselves in the Restaurant Empire series, the game basically entails the management of a restaurant which requires well thought strategies and critical decisions.

What’s New?

A refreshing and brand new campaign which consists of 16 new missions
The addition of German Cuisines
A wide array of new objects to furnish your restaurant
New recipes, customize the appearance of your employees and many more!

Storyline

Depending on the campaign chosen, you would either take the role of Armand La Boeuf or Delia Delecoeur, both of which aspire to succeed in the rigorous yet lucrative culinary business. Driven by their passion, they would both encounter obstacles along the path which you, as the player, must guide them in the right direction.

Gameplay

As aforementioned, players would find themselves dealing with the managerial prospects of running a full-fledged restaurant. Customers think your employees are rude? Fire them and hire better employees. Customers gripe about your food? Dabble with the ingredients and see what the customers have to say. Not getting enough customers? Allocate some of your fund for advertisement to raise your customers’ awareness! The possibilities are seemingly limitless but bear in mind that every single decision that you make in the game will ultimately determine how you fare in the world of culinary business.

Graphics

Compared to the previous installment, the graphics have substantially improved – the character models are now beautifully rendered which complement the vivid and pleasing background very well.

Sound

The music perfectly suits the game and blends in well with the atmosphere – and best of all, the tunes are catchy too!

Controls

The controls are fairly easy to grasp, especially with the very helpful tutorials at the beginning of the game. Players can easily determine the functions of certain buttons or features just by hovering over them in the game itself.

Well, that pretty much sums up the game. Before you decide to embark on a journey to vie for the much sought culinary supremacy, you might want to consider these few tips and hints :

Tips and Hints

If the customers should complain about your staffs, it is highly recommended to just fire them and hire new ones since the complaint is most likely to remain and might even escalate. If they still complain about your newly hired staffs, fire them as well and wait until the upcoming month before hiring new ones.
While it might be tempting to cram in tables in order to accommodate more customers, consider the number of chefs and staffs you have appropriately. If you were to have more customers than your staffs can handle, customers might start griping about slow delivery.
Make sure to never block the viable paths in your restaurant, especially in the kitchen. Poor arrangement of objects might lead to inefficiency in your staffs work routine.
In order to maximize your profit, take the liberty of changing your operational hours to as early as 6 in the morning and end your service only at 12 midnight.
Customers would eventually complain about the lack of variety of choices in the menu. To counter this, duplicate your recipes and change the quality of the ingredients. This is particularly effective at the beginning of the game due to the lack of available recipes

What are you waiting for? Experience the wonders of the culinary world yourself by immersing into Restaurant Empire II now!

New Brunswick Cottages and Hotels-Acadian Culture
New Brunswick abounds with lively Acadian culture. Travel the eastern coast of New Brunswick to find music shows, or to visit historical towns and villages or stop by the Caraquet Acadian Festival attended by thousands annually for a rollicking foot stomping party.

In the late 1600s, the Maritime provinces were called Acadia by the French who settled there. Over the years, there were many struggles between the British and French which saw Acadia change hands many times. In 1755 the British took control and demanded the French pledge allegiance to the British crown. When the French refused, the British organized a mass expulsion which has come to be known as the Expulsion of the Acadians. Families were literally torn apart. Many Acadians were shipped off to Louisiana as well as other parts of the North American continent.

The Acadian Coastal Drive makes the trip easier these days. It begins in Aulac and runs north along the coast, passing through Port Elgin, Shediac, Kouchicouguac National Park, Miramichi, Tracadie-Sheila, Chaleur Bay, Caraquet, and Bathurst. The Acadian Coastal Drive is 400km of roadway where you can find delicious seafood, and the rich energy and music of the Acadian Culture. It is also possible to take side trips into the rural country of Miscou and Lameque Islands, good for birdwatching.

A great place to spend a day steeped in Acadian Culture is the Village Historique Acadien. This is a restored village and portrays the life of those who returned to Acadia following the British expulsion of 1755. The post office and general store have been completely rebuilt, as has the school house and the Riordon grist mill. You can also tour an authentic print shop, the Poirer Tavern, learn fishing at the Grodin House, and see how fish were processed at the Robin Shed Warehouse. The village is open to tourists from June through September.

The Caraquet Acadian Festival happens in August and runs for two weeks. Thousands of people from all over the world descend on the region to take part in the festival and street fair. One parade features more than 25,000 participants dressed in some form of red, blue, white and yellow colors of the Acadian flag. The whole point of the parade is to make as much noise as possible.

While many of these mirror similar dishes found in Hawaiian cuisine, others are unique to the native Polynesians, or blend a wide array of culinary traditions, including those found in Hawaii, Asia, and even the mainland U.S.

When most people think of Polynesian food, they think of dishes featuring chicken, poi, and/or pineapple. These are certainly a few staple ingredients found at most Polynesian meals. Traditionally the Polynesian diet also features taro root and sweet potatoes, as well as rice and beans. Hawaiian baked beans, one staple dish, often comprise a large part of both Hawaiian and Polynesian fare.

For sweet recipes, the Polynesian diet often incorporates banana and coconut, like many other tropical islands. Both of these crops are traditionally grown on the Polynesian islands, and using them as ingredients for your luau menu will certainly provide an added flavor of authenticity.

Of all of these traditional Polynesian ingredients, taro root and poi are the two that are typically unfamiliar to American audiences. Taro root is the root of a tuber plant, related to yams and potatoes. Considered a staple in many cultures of Africa, Oceania, and Asia, it has a texture similar to that of a sweet potato, with a flavor like that of a potato. In the U.S., it can be found at most supermarkets carrying a large selection of Asian foods. Poi is made from the taro plant, which is cooked and then mashed into a pudding-like consistency.

Although these two ingredients are not typically found in dishes created in the mainland U.S., most of the other ingredients needed for Polynesian recipes can easily be found in any grocery store. Who says that you must be in Hawaii to experience a luau, or Polynesia to experience a delicious Polynesian feast? You can cook easy Polynesian-inspired dishes in your own home, using ingredients you’re already familiar with.

For the most part, Polynesian food is traditionally cooked in an earthen oven. For your own Polynesian party, this means plenty of baked dishes, though of course you can use your regular oven as an alternative to the traditional earthen oven.

Often, the key to creating the perfect menu for a luau or tiki-themed party lies in authentic Polynesian fare that’s familiar enough to please mainland palates. This was certainly true in the tiki lounges that sprang up in the 1930s, tiki bars during the tiki craze of the 50′s and 60′s, and in today’s restaurants around the world that feature Polynesian-inspired menus.

For the main course, look towards sweet and sour sauce for something that’s a bit familiar to most mainland taste buds, yet also quite exotic and tropical. Most people are familiar with this sauce from Chinese restaurants. Recipes for Polynesian sweet and sour sauce typically require sugar and white vinegar, and are used to coat pork, chicken, or shrimp. As an alternative to sweet and sour, use soy sauce to coat the meat. Fried rice is another great dish that is certainly Polynesian, yet also familiar to those on the mainland.

Latin America is becoming the richest wine region in the world. The wine industry of South America – especially Chile and Argentina – is booming. Argentina’s Malbec has gained a spot as one of the most sought-after wines of the past five years. Whereas Chile has become one of the world’s biggest wine exporters. Seeing the success of these two countries, other South American nations are also exploring this turf. The resultant is a continent beginning to get famous for more than just awesome landscapes.

The amazing success of Chile and Argentina hinges on regional factors. The ‘Wine Belt’ of South America is proving to be the best world’s best growing environments that is why the countries on this belt are producing world-class wines that have unique flavors. Visitors from all over the world are coming here for vacationing and winery tours.

Quality has never been the focus of South American countries but as far as wine is concerned, it has become their trademark in world wine market. South American wines have an iron hold on world’s wine markets since their prices are reasonable combined with excellent quality.

The value coming out of Argentina and Chile is proving worthy of the impression it is making on the industry.

It may be astonishing to know that the ancient Mayans have had a profound impact on the eating habits of the modern world. If you happen to go to Mexico, you will find out that quite a few of the food ingredients being used around the world have Mexican origins.

Take, for example, chocolates. Mayans were the first to cultivate the fermented seeds of cacao tree around three thousand years ago. In those times, it was bitter and spicy since sugar had not yet been invented. Mayans believed that the chocolate came from gods. You can still find chocolate flavored with pepper or paprika in Mexico.

Chiles was cultivated more than seven thousand years ago and still adorns almost every fiery dish around the globe.

Tomatoes came from Mexico’s Yucatan State. Originally, they were thought to be poisonous. However, nowadays they are part of almost every cuisine in the world.

Vanilla was first cultivated in Veracruz State. Later, it became famous as Mayan’s chocolate drink. It was introduced to Africa and Asia by Spanish and Dutch exporters. Corn/Maize, Avocados, papaya, sweet potato and Black Beans also have their origin in Mexico.

Argentine cuisine has very strong resemblance to French, Spanish and Italian cuisines. It is also one of the world’s biggest food producers since it produces beef, corn, milk, wheat and beans. Beef is also a common ingredient of Argentinean food.

Certain foods are common in every part of the country, which include barbecued meat, Asado, empanadas and dulce de leche, however, Argentinean food can be roughly classified as under:

Andean cuisine came into being in the ancient Andes culture. This cuisine of the Andes dates back around 10,000 BC and includes a great variety of plants and animals. The most important staples were various tubers, roots, and grains. The most commonly used meat is guinea pig, dried fish and llamas and dried fish was common.

Argentinean food contains higher levels of protein. Barbequed grilled meat is a common staple especially steak and ribs. Goat and lamb are also eaten in Patabgonia. Barbeques is mostly accompanied by a sauce Chimichirri made from garlic, vinegar and herbs. In some cases, it also includes chili.

Yerba maté or Paraguay tea is an herbal drink supposed to have numerous medicinal properties. It is made from the leaves of the tree after drying, roasting and crushing them into a fine powder.

Most people’s idea of Italian cuisine is a combination of tortellini, minestrone, spaghretti, and lasagna. If you visit Italy with such an narrow view of Italian cuisine, you will be pleasantly surprised at the variety of food that the Italians eat.

The reason for this variety is simple. Italy has nineteen regions, each with its distinct cuisine. In addition, Italian cuisine changes according to the seasons. Fresh ingredients are of utmost importance in an Italian kitchen. As a result, you will discover that the summer cuisine is different from the winter cuisine.

North Italian Cuisine

Usually, Americans are familiar with the part of Italian cuisine that is typical of north Italy. All the heavy dishes loaded with cheese and rich sauce comes from this reason. You will enjoy a stay in north Italy if you enjoy the Italian food available in America.

Although you will be familiar with north Italian cuisine, you will still be surprised by the wonderful differences in authentic north Italian food and the Italian fare available in America.

South Italian Cuisine

The cuisine of south Italy is different. The people of south Italy use more fish in their diet. This variant of Italian cuisine is named “Mediterranean food.”

In general, south Italian dishes are lighter and healthier. Due to their food habits, south Italians are the healthiest people in the world. One of the factors that makes south Italian diet so healthy is the use of olive oil in most of their dishes.

Spices in Italian Cuisine

Don’t limit your ideas of Italian cuisine to a few dishes of spaghetti and meatball. Italian cuisine is rich, complex, and diverse. More spices find their way into an Italian dish than just garlic.

Many people are under the misconception that the Italians use an over abundance of spices in their food. This is because, in America, people who have neither been to Italy nor tasting Italian cuisine cook Italian food.

Italians use spices only to enhance the natural flavor of particular dishes. Moreover, the nature of Italian food depends on the seasons, and due to this, Italians do not depend heavily on the use of spices. Their meats, pastas, and sauces usually have a fresh flavor of their own. Travelers, however, has discovered that north Italians use more spices in their food than south Italians.

When considering Italian cuisine, it is of great importance to realize that there isn’t any standard Italian cuisine. With nineteen region, there are nineteen variants of the Italian cuisine. Each region has its unique style of cooking, its dishes featuring local vegetables and animal products. In spite of the variations, a traveler in any part of Italy will find that something about Italian cuisine is familar, and this comforting feeling of familiarity is what makes Italian cuisine a hot favorite in most of the world.

Many diets recommend controlling carbohydrates as part of their plan. Diabetics in particular need to be weary of carbohydrates and the gylcemic index of the foods they take in. Italian restaurants over time have developed a reputation of a very bad place to go if you are watching carbohydrates.

It is true that many Italian restaurants may have large amounts of carbohydrates. But there are also many things that people can do to help control these carbohydrates. Learn the secret to controlling carbs in an Italian restaurant.

♦ Healthy Alternatives ♦

Check out the menu at the Italian restaurant. Many restaurants these days will have labels next to heart healthy/low calorie and reduced carbohydrate meals. This can make things a lot easier if they do. If the food is prepared in to be as healthy as possible this will lower your risks a lot to start.

♦ Breads: Try to Avoid Them ♦

Breads are full of carbohydrates. Many Italian restaurants offer plates of breads with their meals. Some breads like Chiabatta are naturally lower in carbs than many alternatives. That doesn’t mean you can pound down the breads. Have a small piece and be done with it. It is a matter of discipline, if you down a whole tray of breads, carbohydrate wise you will be in trouble no matter if it is a slightly lower carb choice or not. If they offer it, and you want –one piece- it your best bet carbohydrate wise is any whole wheat option.

♦ Pasta: make it Whole Wheat and Al Dente ♦

Pasta has a fair amount of carbohydrates, no getting around that. What they use to make the pasta is very important though. Make sure you go for whole wheat versions of the pasta. Ask for the pasta cooked, “al dente”. Al Dente means firm -but not hard- pasta. When pasta is cooked Al Dente it has a much lower glycemic index than pasta that is cooked soft. Lower glycemic index is the really important part of reducing carbohydrates.

♦ Salad : Watch Toppings ♦

Be careful with your salads. Tread lightly around bacon, cheeses, avocado and high fat dressings. Vinegar and oil are classics that are also pretty good carbohydrate and diet-wise.

♦ Soups ♦

Cream soups are bad. Stay away from them for the best carbohydrate soups stay away from potato, noodle and cream based soups. Go for nice broth based soups that will be much healthier.

♦ Sauces ♦

One of the best things about Italian eating is some wonderful sauces. This is pretty simple to learn what to avoid. Go for tomato and avoid any of the white sauces. It is pretty simple thing but can really help keep the carbs down and assist in healthier living.

♦ Reduce Portion Size ♦

One of the best ways to watch what you take in is to use one of many methods to decrease portion size. Italian restaurant portions are often particularly large. People often do not realize how big meals can be in comparison to normal portion sizes. A portion size cut of meat is the size of a deck of cards. A meal sized portion of rice, potato or pasta is about the size of a baseball. Sometimes at Italian restaurants there will be two-three times this amount presented. Being able to visualize portions like this is essential. It gives you a good idea of how much you are consuming so you know when to stop without waiting for your stomach to tell you.

To reduce portion size you can, ask for less, share a plate, plan to take ½ home and a lot more interesting little tricks. Make sure you try these, because portion size is one of the really bad things about eating out that can pack on the pounds.

♦ The secret to controlling carbs in an Italian restaurant ♦

Italian restaurant eating can be rough on someone watching carbs. There are lots of breads and pastas that are chocked full of carbohydrates. The best thing to do is get the pasta cooked Al Dente and ensure that both pasta and any breads use whole wheat alternatives. It is not easy, but even eating in Italian restaurants can be carb conscious if people watch and take care of what food they take in.
